This artwork by María Luisa Pacheco achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Montañas sold for USD 21,420.00 (€ 18,240.65) - well above the upper estimate of USD 12,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by María Luisa Pacheco; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Lipari sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of USD 40,000.00 (€ 36,300.93).

In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Montañas für USD 21.420,00 (€ 18.240,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 12.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von María Luisa Pacheco; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Lipari im November 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 40.000,00 (€ 36.300,93).
