Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Swans by Margaret Jordan Patterson was auctioned at Christies in New York in October 2001, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,762.50 (€ 1,959.86). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Margaret Jordan Patterson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work White Dogwood, which sold at auction in October this year for USD 5,715.00 (€ 5,407.83).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Swans von Margaret Jordan Patterson im Oktober 2001 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 1.762,50 (€ 1.959,86) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Margaret Jordan Patterson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit White Dogwood beobachtet, die im Oktober diesen Jahres für USD 5.715,00 (€ 5.407,83) versteigert wurde.
