Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gwangju Dddrawing by Marco Maggi was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in October 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,844.02) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Marco Maggi - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2016 for USD 31,250.00 (€ 29,542.45).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Gwangju Dddrawing von Marco Maggi kam im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.844,02) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Marco Maggi mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im November 2016 für USD 31.250,00 (€ 29.542,45) versteigert wurde.
