This artwork by Marcel Duchamp achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in June this year. In the Prints & Multiples auction, the work Obligations Pour La Roulette De Monte-Carlo sold for USD 2,176.00 (€ 1,992.67) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marcel Duchamp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Belle haleine - Eau de voilette in February 2009 with an auction result of EUR 8,913,000.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Marcel Duchamp erzielte im Juni diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Prints & Multiples wurde die Arbeit Obligations Pour La Roulette De Monte-Carlo für USD 2.176,00 (€ 1.992,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marcel Duchamp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Belle haleine - Eau de voilette im Februar 2009 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 8.913.000,00.
