Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Sq V2 1994 by Marc Vaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,125.00 (€ 3,419.91) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Marc Vaux have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in July 2015 with an auction result of GBP 13,750.00 (€ 19,492.88).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sq V2 1994 von Marc Vaux zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.125,00 (€ 3.419,91) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Vaux auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Juli 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 13.750,00 (€ 19.492,88).
