Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Abendland IV (self-portrait) by Marc Bauer was auctioned at Christies in Paris in June 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 400.00 – 600.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 250.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Marc Bauer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Painting for a romantic landscape in December 2020 with an auction result of EUR 6,875.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Abendland IV (self-portrait) von Marc Bauer im Juni 2019 bei Christies in Paris versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 400,00 – 600,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 250,00 den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Marc Bauer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Painting for a romantic landscape im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.875,00.
