In December 2019 Christies in Paris held the auction Post-War and Contemporary Art vente du jour, which included the work Ghost II by Marc Bauer. The »bidding war« ended at EUR 1,625.00 35% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Marc Bauer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Painting for a romantic landscape in December 2020 with an auction result of EUR 6,875.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis um 35 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2019 führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art vente du jour durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ghost II von Marc Bauer zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von EUR 1.625,00 und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Marc Bauer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Painting for a romantic landscape im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 6.875,00.
