Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Burning Red by Makiko Kudo. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,979.60) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Makiko Kudo - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Floating Island, which sold at auction in August 2020 for GBP 22,680.00 (€ 25,414.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Handpicked: 50 works selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Burning Red von Makiko Kudo zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.979,60) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Makiko Kudo mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Floating Island beobachtet, die im August 2020 für GBP 22.680,00 (€ 25.414,29) versteigert wurde.
