In April 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Paintings, which included the work Prize Fighter by Mahonri Young. The »bidding war« ended at USD 50,000.00 (€ 33,735.92), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Mahonri Young - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Knockdown, which sold at auction in November 2014 for USD 87,500.00 (€ 70,348.93).

Im April 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Prize Fighter von Mahonri Young zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 50.000,00 (€ 33.735,92) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Mahonri Young mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Knockdown beobachtet, die im November 2014 für USD 87.500,00 (€ 70.348,93) versteigert wurde.
