Sold at the lower estimate price
In August 2020 Christies in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work 'Elephant': A Pair of Bookends by Mahonri Young. The result of USD 5,000.00 (€ 4,189.01) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Mahonri Young achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Knockdown in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 70,348.93).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Elephant': A Pair of Bookends von Mahonri Young zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 5.000,00 (€ 4.189,01) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Mahonri Young erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Knockdown im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 70.348,93).
