In September 2010 Christies in New York held the auction Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture, which included the work 'Elephant': A Pair of Bookends by Mahonri Young. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,109.55), 72% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Mahonri Young have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Knockdown in November 2014 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 70,348.93).

Im September 2010 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit 'Elephant': A Pair of Bookends von Mahonri Young zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.109,55) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Mahonri Young auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Knockdown im November 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 70.348,93).
