Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2011 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Crepulscule by Machiko Edmondson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 22,500.00 (€ 26,503.12) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Machiko Edmondson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Semantic Space, which sold at auction in May 2011 for USD 122,500.00 (€ 85,211.46).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2011 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crepulscule von Machiko Edmondson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.503,12) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Machiko Edmondson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A Semantic Space beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für USD 122.500,00 (€ 85.211,46) versteigert wurde.
