Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Holiday (Twilight) by Maaike Schoorel was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,053.43). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maaike Schoorel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Picnic, which sold at auction in March 2016 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,469.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Holiday (Twilight) von Maaike Schoorel im September 2016 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.053,43) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Maaike Schoorel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Picnic beobachtet, die im März 2016 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.469,49) versteigert wurde.
