Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2017 Christies in London held the auction Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery, which included the work Cruize (Twilight) by Maaike Schoorel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,101.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Maaike Schoorel - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Picnic, which sold at auction in March 2016 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 9,469.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2017 führte Christies in London die Auktion Handpicked: 100 Works Selected by the Saatchi Gallery durch, in der auch die Arbeit Cruize (Twilight) von Maaike Schoorel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 4.101,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Maaike Schoorel mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Picnic beobachtet, die im März 2016 für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 9.469,49) versteigert wurde.
