In the The Rafael Valls Sale auction, the work A View Of Tyndareus From The South, With Figures By A Sarcophagus And Fragments Of Sculpture, The Ruins Of A Temple (Formerly Identified As That Of Castor And Pollux) Beyond; And A View Of One Of The Great Caverns Of Tyndareus, With Figures sold for GBP 11,875.00 (€ 13,660.31) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Luigi Mayer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).

Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Luigi Mayer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower im Juni 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 73.250,00 (€ 89.078,82).
