Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work View of the ancient port at Capo Crio in Anatolia by Luigi Mayer was sold in the Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2012. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,865.90). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Mayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit View of the ancient port at Capo Crio in Anatolia von Luigi Mayer wurde im Juli 2012 in der Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.250,00 (€ 2.865,90) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Luigi Mayer erzielen.
