Sold at the lower estimate price
In July 2012 Christies in London held the auction Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours, which included the work Views of Bethany: The interior of the supposed tomb of Lazarus; and View of Bethany with the tomb of Lazarus by Luigi Mayer. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,642.39) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Mayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im Juli 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Master & Early British Drawings and Watercolours durch, in der auch die Arbeit Views of Bethany: The interior of the supposed tomb of Lazarus; and View of Bethany with the tomb of Lazarus von Luigi Mayer zur Versteigerung kam.
