Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A street in Istanbul with a mosque behind; A house and a city gate near Istanbul by Luigi Mayer was sold in the Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours auction at Christies in London in July 2018. The price achieved of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 5,886.40) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Luigi Mayer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View of the port and the city of Constantinople, from Leander's Tower in June 2010 with an auction result of GBP 73,250.00 (€ 89,078.82).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A street in Istanbul with a mosque behind; A house and a city gate near Istanbul von Luigi Mayer wurde im Juli 2018 in der Auktion Old Master & British Drawings & Watercolours bei Christies in London versteigert.
