Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait Of A Young Boy, Full Length, Holding A Kestrel by Ludolf de Jongh was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in May 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 70,000.00 – 90,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 60,000.00 (€ 53,816.49). Other works by Ludolf de Jongh have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in December 2008 by the work Portrait of a boy, full-length, in a gold-embroidered grey costume with a feathered hat and a cane, his hand on the head of a lurcher, with a garden seen through the door behind at GBP 97,250.00 (€ 102,140.80).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait Of A Young Boy, Full Length, Holding A Kestrel von Ludolf de Jongh im Mai 2019 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 70.000,00 – 90.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 60.000,00 (€ 53.816,49) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Ludolf de Jongh wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Dezember 2008 die Arbeit Portrait of a boy, full-length, in a gold-embroidered grey costume with a feathered hat and a cane, his hand on the head of a lurcher, with a garden seen through the door behind mit GBP 97.250,00 (€ 102.140,80).
