Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2013 Christies in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings Part I, which included the work Paying The Hostess by Ludolf de Jongh. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 134,500.00 (€ 99,013.55) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Ludolf de Jongh have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in December 2008 the work Portrait of a boy, full-length, in a gold-embroidered grey costume with a feathered hat and a cane, his hand on the head of a lurcher, with a garden seen through the door behind was auctioned for GBP 97,250.00 (€ 102,140.80).
