Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2021 Christies held the auction Post-War to Present, which included the work Mosaic Painting #25 by Lucas Samaras. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 32,461.91) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lucas Samaras achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Box #119 in March 2021 with an auction result of USD 662,500.00 (€ 564,165.89).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Post-War to Present durch, in der auch die Arbeit Mosaic Painting #25 von Lucas Samaras zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 32.461,91) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lucas Samaras erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Box #119 im März 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 662.500,00 (€ 564.165,89).
