The work Medea by Lothar Hempel was sold in the Post War and Contemporary Art 1990 To Now auction at Christies in London in November 2012. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,500.00 (€ 3,079.75), 25% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Lothar Hempel have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Casanova in October 2010 with an auction result of GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,295.24).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 25 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Medea von Lothar Hempel wurde im November 2012 in der Auktion Post War and Contemporary Art 1990 To Now bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.500,00 (€ 3.079,75) und damit 25% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lothar Hempel auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Casanova im Oktober 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.295,24).
