Auction result well in line with expectations
This work without title by Lorna Simpson was auctioned at Bonhams in January this year. The price achieved of USD 1,275.00 (€ 1,174.25) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Lorna Simpson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Day For Night in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 321,336.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Lorna Simpson kam im Januar diesen Jahres bei Bonhams zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.275,00 (€ 1.174,25) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Lorna Simpson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Day For Night im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 321.336,76).
