Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Three Part Soul by Lorna Simpson for USD 75,600.00 (€ 66,979.71). This price was achieved in the auction 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session at Phillips in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Lorna Simpson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Day For Night in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 375,000.00 (€ 321,336.76).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im November 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Three Part Soul von Lorna Simpson für USD 75.600,00 (€ 66.979,71) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale - Afternoon Session bei Phillips in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Lorna Simpson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Day For Night im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 375.000,00 (€ 321.336,76).
