Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Chinese Untitled by Liu Yujun was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in December 2008, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of EUR 12,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for EUR 11,875.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Yujun - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sans titre, which sold at auction in May 2008 for EUR 35,050.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Chinese Untitled von Liu Yujun im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 12.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für EUR 11.875,00 den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Yujun mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sans titre beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für EUR 35.050,00 versteigert wurde.
