Auction result misses estimated price range
When this work without title by Liu Yujun was auctioned at Phillips in an online auction in February last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 1,260.00 (€ 143.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Yujun achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans titre in May 2008 with an auction result of EUR 35,050.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Liu Yujun im Februar letzten Jahres bei Phillips in einer Online-Auktion versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 1.260,00 (€ 143,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Yujun erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans titre im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 35.050,00.
