Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The Only Son by Liu Xiaodong was sold in the Contemporary Day Auction auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 856,800.00 (€ 103,593.36), 22% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The Only Son von Liu Xiaodong wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 856.800,00 (€ 103.593,36) und damit 22% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
