The work Standing Upside-Down by Liu Xiaodong was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. It achieved a price of HKD 1,750,000.00 (€ 184,988.52), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 46 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Standing Upside-Down von Liu Xiaodong kam im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 1.750.000,00 (€ 184.988,52) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
