Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Sons by Liu Xiaodong was sold in the Contemporary Art Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2021. The price achieved of HKD 10,460,000.00 (€ 1,119,906.90) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 8,000,000.00 – 12,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Xiaodong have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Sons von Liu Xiaodong wurde im April 2021 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Evening Sale bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 10.460.000,00 (€ 1.119.906,90) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 8.000.000,00 – 12.000.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
