A top price for Liu Xiaodong
The work Disobeying The Rules by Liu Xiaodong was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Asian Art — Evening Sale auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. Here, the upper estimate of HKD 65,000,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84). With this result, Disobeying The Rules is even the most expensive work of art by Liu Xiaodong that we have observed at auctions so far.
