Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Green pub 2 by Liu Xiaodong was auctioned at Phillips in Hong Kong in May 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 162,500.00 (€ 18,598.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Green pub 2 von Liu Xiaodong kam im Mai 2019 bei Phillips in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 162.500,00 (€ 18.598,08) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
