Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Liu Xiaodong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2019. In the Contemporary Art auction, the work Chaotic Mess 2 sold for HKD 562,500.00 (€ 64,028.88) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 220,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Xiaodong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Disobeying The Rules in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 66,200,000.00 (€ 6,815,482.84).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Xiaodong erzielte im April 2019 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Chaotic Mess 2 für HKD 562.500,00 (€ 64.028,88) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 220.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Xiaodong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Disobeying The Rules im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 66.200.000,00 (€ 6.815.482,84).
