In October 2013 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction 20th Century Chinese Art, which included the work Shade In The Clouds To Offset The Moon (Diptych) by Liu Jiutong. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,300,000.00 (€ 123,363.25), 63% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Jiutong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mountain Against Island sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 166,104.90).

Im Oktober 2013 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Shade In The Clouds To Offset The Moon (Diptych) von Liu Jiutong zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.300.000,00 (€ 123.363,25) und damit 63% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Jiutong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mountain Against Island im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.360.000,00 (€ 166.104,90).
