A top price for Liu Jiutong
This artwork by Liu Jiutong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2015. In the Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) auction, the work Mountain Against Island sold for HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 166,104.90) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 750,000.00. This high result makes Mountain Against Island the most expensive artwork by Liu Jiutong that we have observed at auctions so far.
