The work Beauty Beyond Words by Liu Jiutong was sold in the 20th Century Chinese Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2013. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 1,000,000.00 (€ 97,888.82), 72% above the upper estimate. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Jiutong; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Mountain Against Island sold at auction in November 2015 with the realized price of HKD 1,360,000.00 (€ 166,104.90).

Die Arbeit Beauty Beyond Words von Liu Jiutong wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 1.000.000,00 (€ 97.888,82) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Liu Jiutong; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Mountain Against Island im November 2015 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 1.360.000,00 (€ 166.104,90).
