The work Inside the House by Liu Hongwei was sold in the Asian Contemporary Art auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 247,500.00 (€ 21,636.03), 65% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Hongwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piggy Toy, which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 65 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Inside the House von Liu Hongwei wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Asian Contemporary Art bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 247.500,00 (€ 21.636,03) und damit 65% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piggy Toy beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00) versteigert wurde.
