Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2008 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale), which included the work Floating Clouds & Boat by Liu Hongwei. The price achieved of HKD 125,000.00 (€ 10,290.81) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Hongwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Piggy Toy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Asian Contemporary Art (Day Sale) durch, in der auch die Arbeit Floating Clouds & Boat von Liu Hongwei zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 125.000,00 (€ 10.290,81) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Piggy Toy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00).
