In April last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction No Regrets: 20/21 Art Online: All Originals, which included the work Checker Series- Eagles and Chicks by Liu Hongwei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 100,800.00 (€ 12,187.45), 26% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Hongwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Piggy Toy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 26 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion No Regrets: 20/21 Art Online: All Originals durch, in der auch die Arbeit Checker Series- Eagles and Chicks von Liu Hongwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 100.800,00 (€ 12.187,45) und damit 26% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Piggy Toy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00).
