Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tumblers by Liu Hongwei was auctioned at Sothebys in Beijing in June 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of CNY 30,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of CNY 35,400.00 (€ 4,168.36) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Liu Hongwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Piggy Toy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Tumblers von Liu Hongwei kam im Juni 2014 bei Sothebys in Beijing zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von CNY 30.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von CNY 35.400,00 (€ 4.168,36) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Piggy Toy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00).
