In April 2014 POLY in Hong Kong held the auction Chinese and Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work A Dialogue With The Master - Colour Fields By Piet Mondrian by Liu Hongwei. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 153,400.00 (€ 14,267.20), 28% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Hongwei have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Piggy Toy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).

Im April 2014 führte POLY in Hong Kong die Auktion Chinese and Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Dialogue With The Master - Colour Fields By Piet Mondrian von Liu Hongwei zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 153.400,00 (€ 14.267,20) und damit 28% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Piggy Toy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00).
