This artwork by Liu Hongwei achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2014. In the 20th Century Chinese Art auction, the work Apple And Watch sold for HKD 225,000.00 (€ 20,926.46) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Hongwei - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Piggy Toy, which sold at auction in May 2011 for HKD 860,000.00 (€ 76,931.00).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 88 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Hongwei erzielte im April 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century Chinese Art wurde die Arbeit Apple And Watch für HKD 225.000,00 (€ 20.926,46) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 120.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Hongwei mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Piggy Toy beobachtet, die im Mai 2011 für HKD 860.000,00 (€ 76.931,00) versteigert wurde.
