Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings, which included the work Reading Yi Jing On An Autumn Night by Liu Du. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 35,000.00 (€ 27,224.64) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Du have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Autumn Landscape in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 116,713.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reading Yi Jing On An Autumn Night von Liu Du zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 27.224,64) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Du auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Autumn Landscape im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.220.000,00 (€ 116.713,00).
