This price was achieved in the auction The Roy and Marilyn Papp Collection of Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 12,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Liu Du; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Autumn Landscape sold at auction in November 2011 with the realized price of HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 116,713.00).
