Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape After Li Cheng by Liu Du was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2017. The price achieved of USD 37,500.00 (€ 31,744.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Du - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Landscape, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 116,713.00).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Landscape After Li Cheng von Liu Du wurde im September 2017 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 37.500,00 (€ 31.744,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Du mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Landscape beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 1.220.000,00 (€ 116.713,00) versteigert wurde.
