Artwork auctioned at eight times the upper estimate price
The work Landscapes by Liu Du was worth HKD 504,000.00 (€ 52,485.55) to a buyer in May 2005. This price was achieved in the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Liu Du - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Autumn Landscape, which sold at auction in November 2011 for HKD 1,220,000.00 (€ 116,713.00).

Die Arbeit Landscapes von Liu Du war einem Käufer im Mai 2005 HKD 504.000,00 (€ 52.485,55) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 60.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Liu Du mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Autumn Landscape beobachtet, die im November 2011 für HKD 1.220.000,00 (€ 116.713,00) versteigert wurde.
