In April last year Phillips in New York held the auction Photographs, which included the work Hiding in the City No. 86 (Bird’s Nest) by Liu Bolin. The »bidding war« ended at USD 8,190.00 (€ 7,772.61), 37% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Liu Bolin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Hand in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,915.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 37 % übertroffen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Photographs durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hiding in the City No. 86 (Bird’s Nest) von Liu Bolin zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 8.190,00 (€ 7.772,61) und damit 37% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Bolin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Hand im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 46.915,17).
