This artwork by Liu Bolin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Paris in September last year. In the Un regard sur le monde : Collection Comte & Comtesse Jean-Jacques de Flers auction, the work Totem - Portrait of Modern People 3 & 8 sold for EUR 10,710.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Liu Bolin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Red Hand in May 2008 with an auction result of USD 73,000.00 (€ 46,915.17).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Liu Bolin erzielte im September letzten Jahres bei Christies in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Un regard sur le monde : Collection Comte & Comtesse Jean-Jacques de Flers wurde die Arbeit Totem - Portrait of Modern People 3 & 8 für EUR 10.710,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Liu Bolin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Red Hand im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 73.000,00 (€ 46.915,17).
