Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Street Scene, People Walking #2 by Lester F. Johnson was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2012. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,695.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lester F. Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work City #3, which sold at auction in September 2014 for USD 34,375.00 (€ 27,221.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Street Scene, People Walking #2 von Lester F. Johnson wurde im September 2012 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.695,40) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Lester F. Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit City #3 beobachtet, die im September 2014 für USD 34.375,00 (€ 27.221,25) versteigert wurde.
