Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Ugolino by Leonard Baskin was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 3,055.00 (€ 3,200.63) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Leonard Baskin have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Isaacangel in June 2000 with an auction result of USD 18,800.00 (€ 19,696.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Ugolino von Leonard Baskin kam im Juni 2000 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 3.055,00 (€ 3.200,63) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Leonard Baskin auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Isaacangel im Juni 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 18.800,00 (€ 19.696,18).
