Upper estimate price exceeded by 41 %.
The work Costume design for a slave by Léon Bakst was sold in the British and European Art auction at Bonhams in London in July this year. It achieved a price of GBP 7,040.00 (€ 8,213.55), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 41%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Léon Bakst achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Dancer In Costume in November 2006 with an auction result of GBP 624,000.00 (€ 926,659.53).
